How the Readathon Works

​

Easy and fun: A readathon is just like a walk-a-thon or bike-a-thon, except instead of getting donations for each mile you go, you’ll get them for each book you read or listen to. 

​​

Step 1. Sign up as an individual, group or sponsor as soon as you can. You can sign up anytime from now through March.

 

Step 2. Ask your friends and family to pledge to donate based on your reading for the month of March 2025. They can donate at any level, even $5 per book. ​

 

Step 3. Read (or listen) your heart out all March. At the end of the month, we’ll tally up your books read and redeem your friend’s pledges.

1. Raise $5,000 to support LitArtsRI a 501c3 community arts nonprofit.

2. Partner with a dozen indie bookstores and book clubs across the state to promote

reading great locally authored books.

3. Celebrate the joy of reading in Rhode Island!
